Macbeth-The Lion King Connection

In the very beginning of Macbeth, three witches come and tell Macbeth that he can take the throne from Duncan if he dies. He then later on, with the help of Lady Macbeth, kills Duncan to receive the throne. In the Lion King, Scar wants to kill Mufasa so he can be the king of Pride Rock. He uses the help of his three hyenas (like the three witches) to kill Mufasa.

  2. I love this connection! The idea that power will negatively affect a person's actions is shown in both stories. Both Scar and Macbeth want more power; therefore, when they try to obtain this power, they are both blinded by their greed. They make rash decisions and never fully think through the consequences or other situations that could arise.

  3. This connection is so interesting, and shows that this is a common theme that people want power, and will do whatever they can to get this power. I also really liked how you chose a movie that most people see for the first time when they are children, and a movie that most people see for the first time when they are teenagers!

  4. I guess you could say that Macbeth "Just Can't Wait to Be KIng". But seriously, I love this connection. I also love the potential connection that Macbeth is bloodthirsty, similarly to Scar and other lions looking for prey.
